EAF operating conditions were analyzed, modeled, validated and modified in order to achieve fine balance which would benefit both process and environmental conditions. Resulting conclusion is that what is good for a furnace and effective production is also good for the environment. Example summary of results from project at Topy Steel, Japan, where synergy was achieved on several levels, including process savings and reduced GHG levels.
