In this roundtable discussion, journalists Sam Fromartz (Food & Environment Reporting Network), Marc Gunther (Guardian) and Helena Bottemiller (Politico) will discuss the shifting perceptions about food and the industry's attempt to deal with them.
Fromartz, who in 2006 published the book Organic Inc., will focus on some of the issues engulfing the natural and organic food industry. Gunther will discuss the way GMOs have been perceived and the battles over labeling them. Bottemiller will talk about the efforts of food companies to engage or ignore food policy issues in Washington shaped by the public discourse. Expect a lively discussion with interplay between the three speakers.
