This Seminar will provide an overview of both sections of the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA/H.R. 218) and break down each element of the statute in order to highlight proper application and enforcement as well as the common misconceptions which surround it. Focus will be directed at the 2010 and 2013 amendments, alleged liability concerns, the statute’s relationship to local and state laws, applicability to unique LEO’s, proper qualification standards and documentation, practices to avoid, a review of past and current litigation, and provide an opportunity for Q&A’s.
