From explosions to entrapment, working in the grain industry can be dangerous. This two-part session will begin with a discussion on the mechanisms behind grain dust explosions; factors that can increase occurrences, and prevention strategies. The second segment presents research focusing on the physiological impact effects of grain entrapment on the chest and back. This innovative research provides an estimate of the amount of pressure the body is under during a grain entrapment.
