In this presentation, the Deputy Administrator from the USDA Animal Plant Health Inspection Service will provide an overview of the recent outbreak of bird flu in the U.S. and its impact on the feed industry and on wild animal populations. Included will be a discussion on measures APHIS has taken through collaboration with Agency partners to isolate and eradicate the disease and address current challenges for response and preparation. The session will also focus on how lessons learned from this outbreak will impact future planning for other disease outbreaks that could impact the U.S.
