Romania at the Crossing Point Between Climate Change Targets and Internal Challenges (Room D201-D202, Elicium, Second Floor)

Romania is focussed on identifying and implementing GHG emissions reduction measures, in order to meet its national obligations as EU member state. Shifting to a more energy efficient economy should accelerate the spread of innovative technologies, contributing to an economic growth and creating jobs in sectors related to energy efficiency. In pursuing the EU 20-20-20 objective, Romania has to implement CO2 emission mitigation measures including concerted actions at political level and coherent sectorial strategies. Where to look and how to act Romania in order to meet its climate change target? The answers to these questions are the subject of this paper.
