Budgetary constraints to staffing, the evolution of procurement, and advancements in SaaS technology have all brought change to the conventions of procurement practices and office operations. The City of Palo Alto has embraced a cloud-first, smart-city approach to business. Palo Alto’s procurement office has since advanced its operations in this manner by adopting paperless SaaS systems in place of paper records. The adaptation of change provides the benefits of greater all around procurement practices, time efficiency, reduced error rates, increased compliance, and improved office space.
