This course will provide the students with an overview of the various fiber optic technologies and capabilities for the pro-AV market. These include the types of optical fibers used in pro-AV applications and an understanding of the active and passive devices for gigabit transmission. In addition, one-way, bi-directional and optical multiplexing options will be covered as they apply for the transmission of video, audio and data fiber communications. The course starts at a basic introductory level and builds up to systems. Content also includes design, installation and maintenance disciplines.
