E16 Mega Projects: Winning Programs, Including a Close Look at the Success of Effectively Resolving Disputes (Room Chopin 2)

What is the best method of resolving disputes and developing other winning strategies on mega-projects, including design-build and P3 programs?  Our experienced panel, all of whom have worked together in some capacity, will share their know-how, life lessons, vast program experiences and winning ways in successfully delivering mega-projects on time and on budget. Learn from their war stories, and their on-the-feet strategies to resolve budding conflicts before they turn into Mega Claims.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the evolution of the mega project model.  What works and what doesn't.  A model checklist for resolving disputes before they blow up will be provided.
  • Understand where the mega projects going, where have they been (internationally) and what can be learned from P3 and design/build projects internationally, to apply to U.S. plans for major infrastructure overhauls.
  • Negotiate your next mega deal, including on-going conflict resolution and negotiations during the prosecution of the project or program.  Learn from Roger Johnson, Frank Baltz, and Peter Tunnicliffe how they have worked together to have a winning project.  The path to success is built upon the learning from one's past experiences.
