Due to the increasing amount of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) interconnections with the Electric Power System, the IEEE 1547 standard is going through a major revision to address some of the technical issues associated with this high penetration of DERs e.g. grid support functionalities. During this tutorial participants will learn about the major changes to the IEEE 1547 e.g. voltage regulation, response to abnormal system conditions (including voltage and frequency ride through), power quality, islanding and interoperability.
