The Anatomy of An All Tile Pool (Room 419)

This class entails a systematic approach to successfully installing fully clad glass mosaic pools. Starting from a raw pool shell, we quickly review site protection, working in extreme weather, substrate preparation, and waterproofing before moving on to floating principles and advanced floating techniques. This segment includes custom jigs and templates, along with a few of the most accurate and pratical methods for setting up infinity edge and rim flow pools. We'll then go into installation by first discussing where to start and visualizing the finish before moving on to navigating through depth changes, floor to wall transitions, and many of the most common layout challenges. Included in the installation portion of this class are product selection, proper troweling techniques, achieving positive bonding, and specailized cutting techniques. The visual examples used in this class are taken from a few carefully selected projects that are certain to broaden your perspective and enhance your skillset. Examples of glass tile installation techniques are used throughout this presentation, thus conquering the fear of this popular and sometimes troublesome finish.
