Dr. Emily Anhalt, a psychologist and psychological consultant, conducted her doctoral research on ADHD and success without the use of medication. She spent two years exploring how and why certain people feel their ADHD has contributed to their occupational and financial success rather than detracted from it. Through this research, she discovered a profound theme: Those who managed to achieve success despite (or often because of) their unique learning styles were the ones who were supported in learning and working in their own way and who were made to feel capable and worthy. In this presentation, Dr. Anhalt uses her personal experience with ADHD and her research findings to inspire a different method of teaching.
