J.J. Lin, Ph.D., an adjunct professor at Hood College and chief scientist with Imagilin Technology, shares the health benefits of Pediococcus acidilactici NRRL B-50517, a patented, non-spore forming, plant-based probiotic for preparation of probiotic freeze-dried products for functional pet treats or functional pet food ingredients. Probiotics can increase the nutritional value of foods by helping animals’ digestion and immune systems. Probiotic freeze-dried products can be pet treats and/or pet food ingredients, and dogs and cats fed with Pediococcus probiotics showed better digestive health and immune responses.
