C300 | Ensuring Student Data Privacy and Security as Ed Tech Expands (Room SOUTH 310A)

With more edtech tools in use and more regulations governing student data privacy, leaders need to be aware of their obligations and commitments as well as their ability to protect student data. How can district leaders keep track of the various tools in use and their policies regarding student data? How do leaders ensure that data is secure and implement a plan to go beyond the bare minimum requirements? In this panel discussion, a group of education experts will analyze districts’ needs, look at the challenges caused by the expanded use of technology and proliferation of tech tools, and assess the strategies that leaders can implement to fulfill their duty to protect student data.
