How do you engage reluctant and at-risk readers in Shakespeare? Use centers employing STEAM activities to encourage engagement! This activity follows a study of "Julius Caesar" through six centers that allow students an in-depth exploration and understanding of complex text. All centers require students to post a photo/video/link on the class Padlet of their center creation. Center 1: Create a prop to help your character using Makedoo, Straws, or Little Bits. Center 2: OzoBot the plot. Code Ozzy to demonstrate the action in the plot. Center 3: TextingStory to create a feed where Brutus really tells Portia of the conspiracy. Center 4: Fakebook your character, Powerpoint. Center 5: Roman ABC's. Center 6: LightBox online book tour.
