Connecting an at-risk student to the right support should not be a guessing game. Historical models of early warning systems tend to mis-identify large groups of students using only a few variables, resulting in a mass of students receiving generic assistance and a lack of insight into whether these interventions are helping… or even happening. Over the last three years, Manatee County has worked to leverage their resources to increase student success. They employed predictive analytics to accurately target underserved groups of students, and developed intervention processes to connect those students to the right support. During this session, Kathy Haugan will share the tools and methodology that power Manatee’s work to improve student outcomes.
