Tracks: Future of EdTech Administrator

Many of us have intelligent personal assistants in our homes that provide us with access to music, news, home security systems, and each other. So why not bring these voice-activated devices into our classrooms for students to access information and engage in a more active learning environment? This hand-on workshop will explore the data collection privacy concerns that district will be addressing when these devices find their ways into our classrooms. Working in collaborative groups, attendees will address the possible impact these voice-activated speakers will have on the student privacy. Using CIPA, COPPA, and FERPA federal laws, attendees will develop strategies for how to invite “Alexa” and “Google” into their school districts.
