POSTER: Curtailment Simulation Using Machine Vision

One year of machine vision data for the detection and classification of eagles gathered at a windfarm in Wyoming have been used to simulate turbine curtailment using a curtailment simulator. The curtailment simulator enables the prediction of revenue loss under a variety of curtailment prescriptions. Intelligent optimization of curtailment prescriptions is necessary for achieving eagle conservation while not resulting in an untenable amount of revenue loss. Examples of a variety of curtailment prescriptions are quantified.
