Two media specialists will discuss in detail specific projects that we have used in our makerspaces to foster learning and creativity. All of these projects relate to specific content standards across grade levels. We will explain set-up, materials needed, standards addressed, and related learning objectives for each project. Some of the projects are designed to include all students in the school, and each project has basic criteria and guidelines that must be met. Other projects are geared for small groups, where learning is more self-driven and students make their own project choices. We will also include fun projects that indirectly relate to curriculum standards and are designed to engage students in high interest activities that showcase creativity and higher level thinking skills. The goal for all of our projects is to establish a collaborative learning environment where students can enhance their knowledge and skills.
