Tracks: Operations

Seconds count. Exsanguination is still the leading cause of prehospital death in the United States. Warm Zone trauma care is not just scenes of mass violence. It applies to our daily operations on any call with violence and to accidental trauma as well. Hemorrhage control requires speed, technique, and aggressiveness regardless of whether it was caused by a machinery accident or an act of violence. This presentation and practicum cover the basis of rapid trauma care directed toward those injuries responders have the ability to mitigate. The backbone of this program has been the grassroots training on rapid hemorrhage control we teach to all our firefighters and law enforcement personnel. The program has been so successful that it is now being taught in the school districts and university for staff and faculty.
