Human Trafficking: The International Crisis In Your Backyard (Room Chesapeake DEF)

There are over 20 million victims of human trafficking, often forced into slave labor or into sexual exploitation. Responders routinely have contact with these victims and often do not recognize the signs of human trafficking, how to report it, record it, and take action. The speakers will look at the human trafficking problem; why it’s not going away but, rather, getting worse; discuss how it impacts every city and neighborhood; what role you have in its recognition, prevention, and investigation; and what role administrators and medical commanders have in the fight against smuggled human beings.
