Human Factors Psychology is the science of optimizing human performance and minimizing error. We are now collecting and analyzing vast amounts of data. So how do we optimize human well being and overall system performance? Human Factors help you understand interactions among humans and other elements of the system. This insightful presentation will highlight the impact of stress on decision-making and how the use of carefully developed checklists can leverage providers to be highly successful in the street. Chief Shaughn Maxwell will present lessons learned while working with researchers from the U.S. Military and NASA to enhance paramedic and firefighter performance.
