OSHA’s New Confined Space Standard – What You Don’t Know Can Kill You! (Room 238)

This session will examine the science of fire, and vividly demonstrate seemingly complex concepts as they apply to many aspects of occupational safety and health –  from industrial hygiene to confined space air quality. We’ll discuss and visualize the concentration of oxygen, gases and/or vapor in air capable of producing a flash fire in the presence of an ignition source. We’ll also demonstrate and discuss atmospheric concentration levels in confined spaces, and explore the similarities and difference of general industry and construction standards.
