In 2016, SDPBC developed a Strategic Plan with four long-term outcomes critical to student achievement. These District goals require raising the bar for all students and closing achievement and opportunity gaps. A performance management system and the underlying data are essential to attain these four long-term outcomes. School Improvement Plans were developed with goals and annual targets aligned to these outcomes including strategies and actions. A Principal Dashboard of comprehensive leading indicators, aligned to outcomes, is tracked monthly by Principals and Principal Supervisors to monitor progress to goal, provide support, and conduct quarterly School Data Reviews. The Dashboard serves to focus coaching conversations and manage the performance of Principals and their schools.
