TED Talks IT: Develop Critical Storytelling Skills for Leading School IT (Room Bayhill 21)

25 Jan 18
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Tracks: Future of EdTech Information Technology

We learn, remember and lead best through stories. The TED Talks theme is "ideas worth spreading" — ideas about Technology, Education and Design. One role you play as a school IT leader is being a catalyst for positive change. Thus, effective school IT leaders know how to tell stories, which is the skill of connecting and inspiring others to act. In this workshop, you’ll practice modeling idea-sharing that truly moves the listener. Workshop leader, Dr. Caitlin Krause, knows a few things about TED too: She served as Speaker Curator and Coach for TEDxLugano 2017 (Switzerland). Rachael Mann founded #teachLikeTED to help educators improve their storytelling skills. Caitlin and Rachael will help you develop the "TED" mindset of engaging storytelling to design bulletproof TED Talks for IT that result in better alignment with your school's values, goals and objectives. Come learn to "stand and deliver" a message that engages your awareness, voice and passion for positively impacting your school IT environment.
