Online and mobile tools have changed the way we shop, bank, read and keep in touch with family and friends. The widespread use of social media tools, online resources and mobile devices across our society has also had a significant impact on the expectations of parents for school-to-home communications. Per the latest Speak Up data, parents today want more information from their child's teacher and school, but they also want that information to be timely, targeted, and personalized to their child or their interest areas. In this session, we will share the views of 30,000 parents of K-12 students about their expectations for various communications modalities, and the differences in those expectations by community type, grade level of child, family income and tech access at home. Participants will gain access to a new report on these findings that includes examples of best practices.
