Tracks: Future of EdTech Administrator

Education leaders are increasingly perplexed by the conflicting views they hear from parents about digital learning, and this confusion is affecting the implementation of personalized and competency based learning initiatives in many districts. While 61% of parents worry about their children having too much screen time, they also support innovative digital learning models and approaches. For example, 50% of parents endorse blended learning for their child and 71% say every child should use a mobile device in class. In this session, we will unpack current Speak Up research on parents' views and provide leaders with new insights and tools to make sense of these conflicting views with a particular focus on demographic and community differences. Participants will gain access to preview data in advance of the session and resources to extend learning beyond the conference including how to effectively message personalized learning to parents.
