The Power Behind the Process: Development of an Internal Monitoring Team Framework (Room Hall B exhibit hall)

Olentangy Schools (Ohio) is establishing a district-wide Internal Monitoring Team (IMT) to enhance the quality and compliance of special education documentation. The project involves forming four grade-band-specific multidisciplinary teams to review Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs) and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), ensure consistent use of monitoring tools, and identify staff training needs. Initial record reviews have established baseline data and inter-rater reliability, supporting a growth-based feedback model to drive continuous improvement in IDEA compliance and service alignment.
