Poster Session: Supporting Twice-Exceptional Learners in Special Education: Creating a Comprehensive 2E Manual (Room Hall A Poster 11)

Twice-exceptional (2E) learners are individuals who are both gifted and have one or more disabilities. These students represent a unique and often underserved group within special education, as they display characteristics of both high potential and significant challenges. Due to the complexity of their needs, 2E students are often overlooked or misunderstood in traditional educational settings, which can result in missed opportunities for academic growth and personal development. The aim of this presentation is to explore the creation, through the collaboration of stakeholders from multiple domains, of a comprehensive manual that supports the identification, understanding, and educational strategies for 2E learners, providing educators with practical guidance and resources. In addition, this session will emphasize the importance of collaboration with families to ensure the success of 2E students. By working together, educators and families can create tailored support systems that address the full range of needs and strengths that 2E learners exhibit.
