Speaker(s):
Mary Anne Fleury, Assistant Professor of Special Education, Black Hills State University
The purpose of this session is to share a new process and tool regarding the general education teacher’s involvement and leadership in the IEP process while using tried and true facilitative skills. The work goes beyond co-facilitation of the IEP process and moves toward ownership, addressing the critical role general education teachers play in moving the needle on the perception of students with disabilities. This session will provide a hands-on approach to supporting the general educators’ involvement and ownership in the IEP process. Strategies and tools that align with effective IEP meetings will also be provided.
