3:15 PM - 5:30 PM

Tracks: Student Wellness: Prioritizing Balance for Success

The Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports for Special Settings (PBISS) framework at Academic Behavior School West is a transformative approach tailored to the unique needs of students with behavioral challenges. This session will explore how the S.H.I.E.L.D. model—structured to foster self-regulation, positive reinforcement, and academic success—reduces behavioral incidents, minimizes restraints, and increases students’ readiness to transition back to their home districts. Attendees will gain insights into the implementation process, data-driven results, and key strategies to build an effective PBISS system in special education settings.
