Tracks: Staff Wellness: Fostering Resilience

Every educator begins their career with passion and purpose, but over time, systemic challenges and emotional strain can lead to exhaustion, frustration, and doubt. This session introduces The Five Fires of Educator Distress - disillusionment, compassion fatigue, burnout, demoralization, and moral injury - offering a research-based framework to understand, prevent, and mitigate their impact. Attendees will gain practical tools and leadership strategies to recognize early warning signs, support staff through distress, and foster a culture of resilience and sustainability. With a focus on proactive well-being initiatives, reflective practices, and value-driven leadership, participants leave with actionable steps to strengthen morale, improve work-life balance, and restore professional purpose. Designed for educators, administrators, instructional coaches, and education leaders, this session empowers participants to create supportive environments where educators feel valued, capable, and reconnected to their ‘why.’ By addressing these Five Fires with intention, leaders can reduce burnout, increase retention, and reignite the spark that fuels impactful teaching.
