Navigating Specially Designed Instruction: Ensuring Success for Every Student (Room 204 second floor)

Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) is a critical yet often misunderstood component of special education. To truly achieve instructional excellence and student success, educators must move beyond compliance and embrace SDI as an intentional, targeted instructional practice. In this engaging and interactive session, special education leaders will explore the three core components of SDI—Content, Methodology, and Delivery— and how these elements differentiate SDI from general education supports. Participants will analyze real-world scenarios, identify common barriers to effective SDI implementation, and develop actionable strategies for improving instruction within the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE). Attendees will leave with practical tools to enhance coaching conversations with teachers, support high-quality SDI implementation, and ensure that students with disabilities receive the individualized instruction necessary to thrive.
