In this informative and engaging session, participants explore actionable and relevant findings on improving Individualized Education Program (IEP) quality and student outcomes. Participants gain innovative insights into how a newly research-validated rubric for developing IEP goals aligns with an existing research-validated present-levels rubric, highlighting research findings on the effectiveness of using these tools in tandem for capturing high-quality IEP elements. Participants will explore the study findings which suggest a positive relationship between high-quality IEP elements and student performance in reading and math, emphasizing targeted areas for higher quality IEPs. This session provides special education leaders with valuable insights to purposefully enhance IEP development practices and improve student outcomes. Participants leave equipped with practical knowledge, ready-to-use resources, and innovative tools in-hand, to build educator capacity in developing higher-quality IEPs and implementing them with more effective specially designed instruction to support student success.
