Learn how the Komfort IQ Microzone solution significantly reduces HVAC energy consumption, provides optimal thermal comfort through room-by-room temperature control, and continuous IAQ monitoring. Scott Maloney of Komfort IQ and Brian MacPherson with Building Control Guys will discuss how Komfort IQ has successfully been implemented at the Ampersand Building in Calgary, Canada bringing Komfort-as-an-Amenity to the built environment even in the harshest of climates. Komfort IQ used occupancy and temperature sensors for offices and conference rooms and worked with the existing HVAC system to fix the many issues that plagued the decades old pneumatic perimeter heating and VAV cooling system. After Komfort IQ was installed, tenants have been able to enjoy their preferred temperature for their office to within 0.5 degrees of set point and with a temperature range of 8 degrees in adjacent offices within the same HVAC zone. The simple to install, retrofit Komfort IQ system not only fixed the hot office/cold office issues, but significantly reduced HVAC energy consumption (40%+) and is continuously monitoring IAQ as well.
