Do You Have Your Lone Workers’ Backs? (Room 29 AB)

Employers routinely send employees to complete certain tasks, activities or projects on their own without direct oversight, or to remote locations without another person around for miles. This may be routine, but have you ever thought about what could happen to these workers while they’re out there and how you can communicate with them in the event of an emergency? In this session, we’ll talk about why sending workers out on their own is a risk, and why everyone needs to be prepared if worst comes to worst. We’ll explore workplace hazards, work prohibitions, safety planning and communication planning for the lone worker workforce.
