Workers often assume that being “tied off” equals protection from falls, but that is often not the case. In this session, the presenter will explain the many variables involved in understanding the real risk of working at height, including: equipment limitations and misuse, fall clearance, suspension trauma, and swing fall. The session also includes practical tips for how to implement the updated OSHA rule on Walking-Working Surfaces and Personal Fall Protection Systems (29 CFR 1910 Subparts D&I) to avoid costly citations. Participants will be armed with better information and methods to transition your program to facilitate reduced risk and OSHA compliance.
