METALCON 2019

To Code…and Beyond, Using Insulated Metal Panels (IMPs) to Future-Proof Buildings (Room Room 302)

16 Oct 19
8:30 AM - 9:30 AM

Tracks: Special Program

Buildings of today must satisfy a supreme standard – achieve high performance, resiliency and energy efficiency.  Such demands require dramatic changes to the design of the building envelope.

Understanding how to deliver high-performing, code compliant buildings can be complex and confusing. Not only are architects charged with satisfying performance and structural codes to meet requirements, the contemporary envelope now incorporates increasing amounts of combustible material in cladding, insulation and water-resistant barriers. Additionally, fire codes add another layer of complexity with ongoing updates to International Building Codes.

With increasing demands on a structure, this session will help you learn the ins and outs of IMPs, and which products or systems can best fulfill the required air and water control functions of a high performance building enclosure, while meeting fire codes and offering aesthetic flexibility.  Be sure to visit members of IMPFG at their booths:  Brucha, #750; Metl-Span/Centria,  #747; and Greenspan, #1641.
