Background/importance of research topic: Explain the Laser Texturing process and features/benefits it can bring to Mold Manufacturing. Used for Plastic Injection, Medical, Aerospace, ICT, Automotive, Consumer Products, and many more Mold Texturing. Procedures/Data/Observations: will show how texture is done currently (chemical etching) and how this new technology can not only work with it but also possibly completely replace it. Will also show new grains being used in Europe due to this technology (Geometric Patterns) that is very difficult / impossible with current means of texturing (chemical etching). Conclusions/Applications: presentation has been given to Major Companies of Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, ICT, etc. and there is more and more request to be presented more. Everybody seems to be very interested to learn more about the process and features. This is new and exciting technology and gives the styling and design departments endless opportunities.
