Smart Manufacturing Feasibility Case Study After an organization had locked in the initial gains of paper elimination and streamlining processes with web-based technology a new set of problems have emerged for digitized plants in the form of nonintegrated solutions. This feasibility study was initiated by the IT operations leader to look at options of taking the digitization work to the next level. I was tasked to investigate the possibility of a Smart Manufacturing implementation in the organization. Objectives of the study; Capability Check: Is the organization's IT infrastructure able and ready to take advantage of Smart Manufacturing and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things)? Demand for Solution: Do the employees in the different roles see the benefits of a Smart Manufacturing implementation to eliminate or reduce losses in their departments? Pilot Recommendation: What are the best pilot project, location and Smart Manufacturing platform options that meet the strategic vision of the organization? David Iyoha - Lantek Systems, Inc.
