Data Post-Processing for Above-Burden Infrared Camera (ABirC) System (Room 405)

In ArcelorMittal, Above-Burden Infrared Camera (ABirC) has been visualizing, in real time, the distributions and events of burden and top gas in blast furnaces and improving blast furnace performances significantly. Computer software has been developed successfully to characterize, on-line, the data from ABirC for the temperature profiles along radii; the average, maximum, minimum and standard deviation of top temperatures; the sizes, strengths, and locations of the central gas flow, gas channels and wall gas flows. The software also recovers the distorted image and filters out rotating chute effects. With this software, blast furnace operators can trend the distributions and events easily.
