PS069 | Using Technology to Increase Vocabulary Acquisition and Retention (Room Booth 2303)

Digital resources can help to expand students' vocabulary knowledge by displaying relationships, providing digital field trips, encouraging knowledge building through games, providing means for expressing word knowledge, and incorporating word referencing tools. Participants will learn how to use digital resources such as WordSift and Academic Word Finder to determine the appropriate vocabulary to teach in text. Then using digital resources such as Snappy Words, Near Pod Field Trips, and Lingro, participants will explore digital resources to engage students in vocabulary acquisition and retention.
