This workshop will use smartphones to Collaborate, Communicate, Create, Coordinate, Curate, develop Critical Thinking, utilize Computational Thinking, be Curious, and provide Connected-Learning. According to a survey, 94 percent of students want to use their cell phones in class. Learn how the smartphone can be a great equalizer in terms of providing access to students from all sorts of socioeconomic backgrounds on the same device in grades 6-12 in all content areas. Smartphone apps we will explore include but are not limited to Kahoot, Seesaw, Teach Learn Lead, Remind, Classtree, Slack, Additio, Doceri, Epic, Books for Kids, Smart Dot, eClicker Polling System, iTalk Recorder, CourseSmart, TeacherKit, RE.minder, iAnnotate, Documents To Go, Bento, iBlueSky, Pulse News, Wolfram Alpha, Wikipanion, World Factbook, Kindle, NPR Podcasts, Showyou, Musee du Louvre, and Cracked Reader Lite.
