Two English teachers share some of their favorite ways to increase student engagement when teaching literature analysis and writing skills. These technology-based innovative strategies include student-created Google Sites based on novels read in class, research templates designed in Google Slides that help organize students during the literary analysis writing process, Booksnaps in Google Drawings to help hone close reading strategies, memes to allow students to demonstrate reading comprehension, and Newsela nonfiction articles to make literature relevant to daily life. Presenters will also provide instructions on how to implement these strategies in your classes immediately.
