Change requires communication and social capital within your community, and that can be difficult for independent, private, and small school leaders like you. However, did you know that you probably have both a supportive micro-community and an adversarial coalition plotting against your efforts? Social science expert and edtech professional development expert Dr. Beth Holland will show you how to use social network analysis to identify and understand the location, direction, and quality of what are called “advice-seeking networks” within your schools. In this hands-on session, Beth will walk you through three district case studies to show how leaders might leverage social network data to transform the people-to-people communication networks in support of change.
