Tracks: Industrial Ergonomics and Material Handling, Material Handling/Tools/Workstation Design

According to the 2017 Liberty Mutual Safety Index, work-related injuries cost about $60 billion a year. Roughly a third of this cost can be attributed to potentially preventable manual material handling injuries. Industrial exoskeletons have potential to help reduce injury risk for certain types of work, but they are very new and the evidence supporting them is limited. Briotix has tested four different types of industrial exoskeletons on real workers performing their actual jobs by using wearable sensor technology. Hear the results of those tests and the implications for injury reduction and prevention.
