13 - Training Centers of the Future: Exploring the Efficacy of Virtual Reality (Room 382A)

Disruption creates confusion and resistance, with some early acceptance, before changes in work practices occur. The labor market will be driven by 81 million millennials, meaning management of change is essential. Virtual-reality simulators, along with online and instructor-led training, complete the foundation of solutions needed to satisfy the training market for equipment operations. With VR simulation, we have the opportunity to revolutionize how equipment operators are trained, qualified and even certified with agencies such as IPAF and NCCCO. In this session, we’ll discuss the results of a study that presents fact-based research on the efficacy of VR training.
