One of the most important thing that a school can do is share its story with its parents, patrons, and community leaders. Currently most schools have administration and teachers doing most of the sharing through social media such as Twitter and Facebook. My presentation will focus on the planning, skills taught, rules and expectations, as well as use of the Class Intercom app to allow students to share their story on a daily basis through our schools official Facebook/Twitter accounts. This presentation is intended for teachers and administrators who have a "fear" of the negatives that might happen when allowing students onto school sponsored social media accounts and how we have flipped the script and empowered our students and in turn they are telling our school story through their experiences on a daily basis. As a result, our patrons have a viewpoint of school they have never had before.
