As the lone AT consultant for over 12,000 students with disabilities, Kindy Segovia has developed true expertise to overcome universal obstacles in service delivery. These include padlocked budgets, minimal out-of-classroom training time, high parent expectations and an increasing array of technology options. Kindy will identify successful strategies to empower local pupil services staff with credible knowledge and skills. You'll learn to employ flexible learning formats, social media, parent support and ed tech vendor partnerships toward this end. You'll also gain insights to truly "build capacity" without adding staff or increasing costs while also moving away from an expert model of "fixing." Importantly, Kindy will offer specific strategies to help you develop local AT coaches, raise credibility at the building level and allow consultants to transform from expert to mentor.
