Contractors specializing in low-slope roofing face the dual challenge of fewer available skilled workers and keeping up with the demands of delivering quality, watertight roof systems. Understanding, controlling and reducing labor costs can mean the difference between profitability and business failure.
This course will examine a five-year, low-slope roofing study commissioned by CertainTeed and conducted by Trinity | ERD, a respected national roofing and waterproofing consulting firm. The study followed the installation of 45 different low-slope roofs, with six different covers in 18 configurations in locations across the United States to objectively measure labor efficiencies across common single-ply and multi-layer roof coverings. Our findings will help roofing contractors understand the impact that product selection, climate, roof design, and project/crew management have on labor efficiency, effective bidding, and profitable project management.
